Let’s get back to blogging and quilting. That was my goal for the month of October. I had so many work in progresses that were close to a finish, so many ideas floating around in my head that I wanted to blog about. The first part did happen, the second part, not so much. But let’s start with a round up of the month of October.

Over the last years I’ve been trying to cut down on the amount of project I have going on at the same time. I know, some people might think I still have to much on my list, but coming from 30+ a few years ago… I’m very happy the list at the beginning of the month of October was at 13 WIP’s.
I started the beginning of the month making a new list for the month in my bullet journal. I wrote down for each project on the list want I wanted to accomplish that month. So instead of trying to finish everything, some of the goals were making 5 blocks or adding the next circle. This really kept me motivated and resulted in 5 finishes this month. To be honest, I did start 2 new (smaller) projects, so at the end of the month, the list was at 10. I can’t remember the last time I had so little projects on my WIP-list. Let’s see if I can get close to 5 or 6 projects, or at least keep it under 10 for the rest of the year.
The first finish of the month was my oldest WIP. I finally finished tying the puff quilt I started in 2021. We’ve been using the quilt for so many years, but actually it was only basted with a binding, never actually tied and quilted..

We had an amazing quiltbee the 4ht of October with the last day of sun with our Frisian group ‘Lapkes en Leafde’ quiltbee and I pushed through and now it’s done.
The second finish of the month was a few days later, and it was the KONA Block of the month of 2025. I loved the quilt when I first saw it, but quickly realised I just don’t like making big blocks and the project got pushed in a corner. Over the summer I finished the blocks, and during a zoombee with some friends I added sashing and then a quick quilting session, binding added and it is done.

The next 2 finishes were older projects, one was a 2″ scrappy hexagon project I started earlier this year. It got turned into a big bag for my ‘pressing ham’ for dressmaking. And is also finally finished a mini Halloween quilt. I got the honour of testing this block for QuiltbyNight Design and I finally turned it into a finished mini quilt, just in time for Halloween. I used a FQ with Nightmare before Christmas fabric my husband brought back from the US last year and ofcourse a stripey black and white fabric for the binding.

My final finish for het month of October, and also a project I started that month was a Tilda Fabric wall-hanging for on the door of my sewing room.

Can’t wait what November will bring, although I already know there will be at least one finish. I’m also gonna try to pick up blogging again.
